- Treated plywood and lumber for boarding up
- Ice & water shield and roofing
- Concrete sealants and waterproofing
When a watch is issued
- Listen for updates and review your plan
- Double-check this list
- Fully charge phones
When a hurricane is approaching
- Stay indoors; turn the fridge to its coldest setting and freeze water
- Turn off utilities if told to
- Go to a small interior room on the lowest floor and shelter under something sturdy
- Don't open doors or windows until the storm is over - the eye is calm, but it isn't finished
