Not the cheapest. Since 1973.
Owned and run by the Brunt family at Crown Bay, St. Thomas - and still choosing every product for what it has to survive here.
At MSI we buy and sell only those products that can withstand the rigorous demands of our environment. They may not be the cheapest on the market, but they are the best products for our islands.
How it started
When MSI opened for business in 1973, lumber was one of the first products we imported - and it was arriving in the territory untreated. People were building with it. We decided to pioneer the import of only the highest grades of treated Southern Yellow Pine. That became the Island Tough way: choose the material for the place, not the price tag.

The family
Tom and Kris Brunt, with Tommy, Tina, Pia and Shane. (MSI has been making Carnival t-shirts since the '70s, too.)
The team
More than 45 people at Crown Bay - in the yard, on the trucks, at the counter and on the road. Our outside sales staff visit job sites to help plan orders, and we understand the logistics of building on an island because we do it every day.

Two stores, one Crown Bay
